 ANTIQUE TENERIFFE LACE WHEEL & CUSHION - BRIGGS PATEN

An antique Briggs Patent Teneriffe lace maker's brass wheel on its original green baize cushion. The wheel is fixed to the cushion with pins and is engraved with the words:
Briggs Patent Teneriffe Wheel
This unusual piece is in good condition with a few small holes in the green woollen fabric cushion. It measures 4.25 inches (11 cm.) square and the brass wheel measures about 2.2 inches (5.5 cm.) across.

Renda de Agulha no Brasil: renda renascença

A renda Renascença tem alguns centros de produção relevantes na região nordeste do Brasil. Um deles, em Jataúba, no Estado do Pernambuco, foi incentivado pelo Artesanato Solidário.

"Antique hand made Tenerife bobbin lace tablecloth in a rich cream... With options being limited only by one's imagination, this airy panel fashioned of linen or metis, is displayed as a possible small collar cape or scarf, and features an open floral geometric motif with radiating starbursts... Circular-shape, measures ~38in across, and finished off with a deeply scalloped edge all around.  Unlaundered, and in overall very good condition, with age discoloration, few spots, and a rare broken bride.  Otherwise, no other issues noted.

 El texto anterior de la tienda E-bay, informa que el encaje es encaje de bolillos. Yo diría que se trata de un hormoso pañuelo en encaje sol. Se propone que también se puede utilizar como un chal. Nótese como todos los módulos son todos circulares!
